Print Technology - Inkjet

Inkjet printing technology is a very old concept , and is widely used. Printers, based on inkjet technology , uses liquid ink, which is thrown on the paper, by a nozzle, normally called print head, in a controlled manner to print different letters.

Advantages of Inkjet Printer:

1. Buying price is much cheaper comparative to other technology printers like Laser.

2. Option of color printing.

3. Very less power consumption. Can be operated on Inverter also.

4. Best suited for home printing. (Monthly volume of 50-100 pages approximately)

Disadvantages of Inkjet Printer:

1. Per page printing cost is very high. (Approximately Rs. 3-4 per page in black and Rs. 10-15 in color)

2. Print head gets choked, if not used for a long interval. In this case, print head need to be replaced, which is costly.

3. Low print speed.

4. Highly sensitive for dust.

Therefore, the decision to buy a inkjet printer should be entirely based upon the usage. If you want low initial cost, very less monthly volume of printing, and color printing option, then Inkjet printer is best choice.
